Abstract: In the last two decades, the use of oral anticancer agents (OAAs) has increased due to the growing number of patients diagnosed with cancer. Although patients prefer OAAs to traditional therapies, this regimen is often associated with poorer adherence. Furthermore, patients must perform several self-care behaviours to maintain good health and avoid complications. Not all these essential self-care behaviours are considered in the existing tools, focusing mainly on monitoring and management. Therefore, “The self-care of oral anticancer agent index (SCOAAI)” has been developed to measure all self-care dimensions.
